| Respite

What Is Respite?
Pronounced res'pit it means "a time
of rest and relief."
To you, it means:
Arranging for someone else to care for your loved one, for
a time, so that you can give yourself a time of rest and relief.
The respite care may be with a:
 |
Friend |
 |
Relative |
 |
Volunteer |
 |
Companion
sitter |
 |
Adult
day care center |
 |
Respite
care home |
 |
Professional
caregiver |
Along
the way, many of us have learned that our loved ones often
fare quite well with strangers. Strangers are not as emotionally
involved as we are and can offer a fresh experience for him/her.
Even
though it may be challenging to leave your loved one for this
purpose, it is in their best interest that you give yourself
an opportunity to refresh. Respite can help you strengthen
your mental, emotional and physical health.
The
Central Coast Chapter offers respite care grant programs for
special care services within its three counties. Click Here
