So
many advances have been made in recent years, we have every
reason to be hopeful for an Alzheimer's cure, especially if
we work together now. Let's make brain health a personal and
a national priority. That's what Maintain Your Brain is all
about.
Start by eating right and keeping yourself mentally and physically
active. Advocate for more government funding of Alzheimer's
research. And give generously of your time and money to the
Alzheimer's Association. Help us continue leading the way
toward new discoveries, better treatments and care.
Take
steps now to take care of your brain.
Manage
your numbers.
Lower your blood pressure, cholesterol,
blood sugar and body weight to stay healthy as you age.
Exercise
both your body and brain.
Work out, take a class, converse with
others, read, play cards, or work on crossword puzzles.
Feed your brain with nutrients.
Eat foods high in vitamins E and C.
Take a multivitamin that includes folic acid. Include salmon,
mackerel or other foods high in omega-3 fatty acids in your
diet.
Know
that a world without Alzheimer’s can be a reality.
